Run of the Savages: Run, Walk Fights Cancer

Cancer not only affects people physically, but those around them emotionally. This 5K Run/Walk community event is being organized to put a positive spin on a deadly disease by focusing on something greater than the disease: a fun community event and a cause for a cure. Please consider joining in the “Run of the Savages” (whether you are a serious runner, wish to wear your craziest costume, or just go for a leisurely walk) to help battle cancer. The event is being organized for the Plaistow Police Chief Steve Savage, who was diagnosed with cancer. The race will take place on Sat., April 13, starting at Pollard Elementary School, 120 Main Street in Plaistow. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. and the race will start promptly at 10:00 a.m. Register online at http://www.running4free.com/. All proceeds will be donated to The Jimmy Fund, Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
