CROP 2013 Hunger Walk

For the 16th consecutive year, the Greater Hampstead/Plaistow/Salem CROP Walk for Hunger will be held (rain or shine) and your help is desperately needed. Mark your calendar for Sun., May 19, for a walk around beautiful Sunset Lake. Crop Walk registration begins at 12:30 p.m. at Hampstead Congregational Church on Main Street, with the one-mile or 10k beginning promptly at 1:00 p.m.  Committee members representing seven community churches include, seated at left: Rev. Ed Koonz, Fran Pruett, Carolyn Currier and Jay Goodman; standing, left: Dale Raymond, Gail Reed, Ellen McCune, Barbara Hughes, Marion Lake, CROP chairperson; Connie Bartlett, Diane Hardy, and Pam Traver. Citizens of the Year

The Atkinson Lions Club is pleased to announce that David and Hedi Shikes, pictured, have been chosen as the Atkinson Citizens of the Year for 2013. You are cordially invited to attend the ceremony on Sun., May 5, from 1:00-3:00 p.m., at the Atkinson Community Center, 4 Main Street (at the bridge) in Atkinson. This will be a special day for David and Hedi, and is a casual event. The couple have been married for 51 years. The Lions will be looking forward to seeing you on Sun., May 5. Soft drinks, coffee and desserts will be served.

Plaistow's New Arrival

Plaistow residents can now view their new first responder fire/rescue truck that has been tested, driven, and placed into the fleet of emergency vehicles. Epping Regional Health Center

Core Physicians and Exeter Hospital officially opened the new Epping Regional Health Center, 212 Calef Highway (Route 127 / Route 27) in Epping, with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The Epping Regional Health Center offers comprehensive, patient-centered health care in one convenient location, including family medicine, pediatrics, outpatient adult and pediatric rehabilitation, imaging, lab services and mobile digital mammography. Twins Have Different Stories

If you'd like to play checkers at the Exeter Library Children's Room, you can plan on using miniature Red Sox and Yankees hats, rather than the traditional style. Expansion Plans Unveiled

The expansion plans for a future addition to the Harvey Mitchell Memorial Library in Epping have been unveiled and is a very exciting piece of history. A Pizza Party was held for residents at Epping High School cafeteria with gracious hosts Wild E. Cat, the mascot for UNH athletics teams and Fungo, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats mascot. Enjoying the fun are Morgan Witmer, 9, and mom Cindy Witmer.
