KINGSTON – Rocco “Rocky” Sabatino, 84, died on December 9, 2009, at Parkland Medical Center in Derry. He was born in Haverhill, MA, on October 11, 1925, the son of the late James and Annie (Simonella) Sabatino.
At the age of 11, Rocky moved to Atkinson, where his family established a dairy farm with 75 head of cattle used to produce milk that they delivered throughout the community. Rocky worked on the family farm for over 20 years before establishing his own business as a general contractor in 1960. He specialized in excavation, paving, and installing septic systems, and was most well known for selling new and reconditioned farm equipment and tractors. A renowned expert in the field, people from all over the country would contact Rocky to seek his advice on all kinds of tractors and heavy equipment.
Rocky was a resident of Atkinson, for 62 years before moving to Kingston, in 1998. He was predeceased by his first wife Alice P. (Illsley) Sabatino; his brother Bennie Sabatino; and four sisters, Elizabeth Sabatino, Mary Rembis, Sue Popalarski, and Florence Nason.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn L. Mueller of Kingston; his son Dennis Sabatino of Derry; six stepchildren; three granddaughters, Tiffany Kendall, Samantha Mueller, and Mia Sohns; three grandsons, Eric Sielicki, William Mueller Jr., and Jason Yi; three sisters, Mildred Chadwick, Thomasina DiSobo, and Bessie Coletti; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held on December 12, at the Brewitt Funeral Home, Epping. Interment will be in the Atkinson Cemetery in the spring.
