To the Editor:

On behalf of Kingston Recreation, I would like to thank the following groups for their participation in our Trunk-or-Treat Halloween Party on October 21 at the Kingston Recreation Center.

First of all, the wonderful and enthusiastic Kingston Recreation Commission who planned, organized, and ran this terrific event! Bolton's Restaurant for allowing us to use their parking area, the Kingston Police Department for ensuring our safety before, during and after the event, and the Sanborn Regional High School Key Club. Twenty-three students helped us in a wide variety of ways! The following organizations, families and businesses who designed creative and inspired trunks and passed out treats to the over seventy children in attendance: TD Bank, What's The Scoop, Kingston/Newton Taxpayers Association, Salem Sign Company, the Messina Family, Troop 51315, Rick's Food and Spirits, Troop 13963, Troop 93, the Guevins Family, All Creatures Mobile Vet, Two Girls Upholstery, Camp Lincoln, and Epic Design Studio.

It was a tremendous success with over 200 people in attendance. Children also enjoyed face painting, donut on a string challenge, guess the scary stuff behind the curtain, pumpkin painting, making lollipop ghosts, and then popcorn and a movie to top off the night!

The Trunk-or-Treat Party also collected over 100 donations of canned goods for the Food Pantry!

Our next event will be the Christmas tree lighting in late November. Look for details coming out soon!
