HAMPSTEAD, N.H. — Sheila D. (Ramey) Gage, of Venice, Fla. and formerly of East Hampstead, N.H., died on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011.
Born in Methuen, daughter of the late Austin and Esther (McCarthy) Ramey, and raised in North Andover, Sheila was a graduate of North Andover High School and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. Before her retirement, she was employed as an administrative assistant by Klein Associates in Salem, N.H., for over 30 years.
Sheila was an active member of St. Anne's Church in East Hampstead, and Our Lady of Lourdes in Venice, Fla. Also, she was a member of the Good Sam Blazers and former member of the Granite Stater's and North East Pacers camping associations. She was an avid Sudoku and card player and enjoyed brisk walking, gardening, and biking. For the past four years, she enjoyed living the Florida lifestyle and summering in her motor home around the New England area.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, John A. Gage; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott A. and Kim Gage of Tyngsboro; a son, Brian Gage of Hampton, N.H.; three grandchildren, Amanda Gage, Dylan Gage and Mindi Comisky; a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Robert Darois of Nokomis, Fla.; an aunt, Eleanor Blomquist; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Anne's Church, Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, N.H., on Aug. 20, 2011 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a gathering in the church hall. A private burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, North Andover, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to: St. Anne's Church, 46 Emerson Ave., Hampstead, NH 03841. Arrangements are under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, N.H.
