George Henry Novell

EPPING – George Henry Novell, 76, died December 27, 2009 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, after a period of declining health.

He was born July 5, 1933 in Exeter, son of the late George H. and Abbie (West) Novell.

George served three years in the United States Army with the 45th Armor Division as a tank operator during the Korean War. Mr. Novell worked for many years in the textile business for Milliken Industries in Exeter and lastly for Foss Manufacturing Co.

He mostly enjoyed spending time with his best friends and granddaughters, Rachel and Lindsay Rines. He was also an avid card player, preferring Florida Rummy, Cribbage and Uno.

George was predeceased by his wife, Beverly Jean (Gero) Novell, who died August 10, 2009.

He is survived by two sons, George H. Novell of Epping and Edward Folland of Northwood, two daughters, Judy Holmes of Exeter and Nancy Rines of Lee, five grandchildren, two sisters, Kathleen Dennis of Ft. Myers, FL and Lillian Colson of Newton.

A memorial service with military honors was held on January 2, 2010 at Brewitt Funeral Home in Epping. Burial will be in the Exeter Cemetery in the spring.

    RAYMOND — Myron W. Cate, 79, of Hay Springs, Nebraska died peacefully at home on August 20, 2010. Myron was born on February 23, 1931 in Manchester. He was a resident of Raymond, until he joined the United States Navy at the age of 17. He proudly served his country in both the Navy and then the Air Force during the Korean War. Myron's patriotism and strong love of American Freedom was seen as he was known to even carry a copy of the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution in his pocket.
