Teresa Pintrich, 83

Wilmington, Mass. — Teresa (Terry), age 83, died peacefully in her home on August 31, 2013. Loving mother of Patricia Sugrue and husband Michael of Hampstead, N.H.; Dianne Herther and husband Jay of Merrimack, N.H.; Lynda Pintrich and husband, Keith Martin of Nashua, N.H.; and Kathleen Grover of Tewksbury, Mass. Predeceased by her son, Paul R. Pintrich. Mother-in-law of Liz Degroot of Ann Arbor, Mich. Devoted grandmother of Mike and Lyndsay Sugrue, Jamie Herther, and Jack and Patrick Martin.

Terry was born in Somerville, Mass., on October 31, 1929. She was the oldest of four children. She is survived by her sisters, Virginia Nelson of Bridgewater, Mass., and Mary (Pat) Donovan of Hanson, Mass. Pre-deceased by her brother, Charles Prescott. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

She had many dear friends, and her devoted and loving neighbors of over 40 years, Alan and Ruth Hunter, made it possible for her to live alone in her home later in her life.

Terry worked for Olin Chemical Company in Wilmington for 25 years. Her passions were her children and grandchildren, reading, and the beach. She loved being with family and friends in Moody Beach, Maine. She was a Patriots and University of Michigan football fan and an avid fan of the Red Sox. She was a kind and gracious woman with magnificent courage and conviction. Although she was physically petite, she was a very strong and independent woman.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends gathered for a funeral service at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, Mass., on Thursday, September 5th at 11 a.m. Visiting hours were held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 4th from 4 to 7 p.m. www.nicholsfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Teresa’s memory may be made to The Friends of the Wilmington Public Library, Attn: Friends, 175 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA 01887, (www.wilmlibrary.org/friends), where Terry pursued her passion for reading.
