Thomas M. Ahearn, 51

RAYMOND, N.H. — Thomas "Tom" Mark Ahearn, 51, died Friday, May 27, 2011 at his home after a period of failing health.

He was born Aug. 6, 1959, in Wayne, Mich., son of George M. Ahearn and the late Eleanor (Nota) Ahearn. Tom grew up traveling around various parts of the country due to his father's work responsibilities. Tom fondly spent many summers back in Michigan on the farm. In 1976, the family settled in Raymond, N.H., where he lived for the last 35 years. He married Carla Aasen in 1980 and together they raised four children. Tom worked for over 30 years in the plumbing and heating industry, getting his initial experience working with his brother-in-law, Reg Richard. His last employment was with Denron Plumbing and Heating as a project manager until he became too ill to work.

Tom was a longtime member of the Raymond Youth Athletic Association from 1977-1996 and also served as President for several years. He was also actively involved with Lamprey River Little League throughout this time. For Tom, he valued his family and friends, and the time he devoted to them above all else. He also greatly enjoyed the beach and taking long drives.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carla Ahearn; three sons, Connor Edmund Ahearn, Sean Eamon Ahearn, and Sheamus Oliver Ahearn; one daughter, Caitlin Annie Ahearn, all of Raymond; his father, George Ahearn of Candia; one brother, Jim Ahearn of Candia; one sister, Colleen Forsythe and brother-in-law, John Forsythe, both of Raymond; two nephews, Ian Forsythe of Salem, and Michael Ahearn of Raymond; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours were held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond, N.H. A service was held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Tom's family requests, in his memory, that everyone take the time to do something new with your loved ones. Please create a special memory that you will cherish forever.
