John “Nicky” Wallace

NEWTON – John “Nicky” Wallace, 83 of Newton, died Saturday May, 30, 2009, at his home, following a brief illness.

Born and raised in S.C., he moved to Lynn, MA in 1961 and relocated to Newton, in 1982 where he attended the First Christian Church on Amesbury Road.

He was employed by General Electric Corporation until 1987 and in 1991 he returned to S.C.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years Ora (Porcher) Wallace and their 10 children; sons John of Lawrence, MA, Gerald of Tacoma, WA and daughters, Joyce of Lynn, MA, Cheryl of Newton, Janyce of Albuquerque, NM, Vanessa of Manchester, Lillian of Las Vegas, NV, Karyn of Charleston, Nand Chanelle of Burlington, NJ. He is pre deceased by son Darryl Tyrone Wallace.

He also leaves behind 25 grandchildren to include Johnny “Mickey” Wallace of Bedford, and 23 great grandchildren.

His funeral was held on June 6, at St. Paul’s Methodist United Church in Nesmith, SC, and his burial was held on June 11, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn, MA.

    RAYMOND — Myron W. Cate, 79, of Hay Springs, Nebraska died peacefully at home on August 20, 2010. Myron was born on February 23, 1931 in Manchester. He was a resident of Raymond, until he joined the United States Navy at the age of 17. He proudly served his country in both the Navy and then the Air Force during the Korean War. Myron's patriotism and strong love of American Freedom was seen as he was known to even carry a copy of the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution in his pocket.
