Robert Henry Andersen

KINGSTON – Robert Henry Andersen, 89, died January 2, 2010. He was born in Winthrop, MA, May 14, 1920, the son of the late Henry and Anna (Peterson) Andersen. He graduated from Gloucester High School, Gloucester, MA and Essex Agricultural School, Danvers, MA, before moving to Kingston in 1944 with his wife Marjorie (Jones) Andersen.

He was a member of Wingold Grange #308 of East Kingston for over 60 years, Masons, the First Congregational Church, Kingston, NH, the United States Trotting Association, and a founder of the Kingston Standard Bred Club.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marjorie, two daughters Joann Brandt of East Kingston; and Jean Caraluzzi of Freehold, NJ; four sons, Ralph of Norfolk, MA; Albert of Westwood, MA; Kenneth of Columbus, NJ; and Carl of Foxboro, MA; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Norman, sister, Ruth and grandson, Joseph Caraluzzi Jr.

He was a past Selectman in Kingston, owned and operated the Andersen School Buses in Kingston for many years, a farmer raising chickens, then cows, then raised, trained and raced harness horses. He owned and operated the Kingston Camping Area. He moved to New York where he farmed dairy cows for a number of years before retiring to Florida where he worked at Pompano Park Racetrack.

Veto A. Casarano

HAMPSTEAD – Mr. Veto A. Casarano, 77, of Hampstead, died January 2, 2010 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.

Born and raised in Boston and Cambridge, MA, son of the late Nicholas and Anna (Dascoli) Casarano, he graduated from Rindge Technical High School in Cambridge. He worked as a Sales Representative at Newman Ford until his retirement. He also owned and operated his own donut shop and worked locally as a mechanic.

A member of St. Anne’s Parish of Hampstead, Mr. Casarano was a life member of the Plaistow Fish and Game Club and a member of the Hampstead Senior Center. Mr. Casarano loved the ocean and enjoyed fishing and hockey. He was an Avid Bruins Fan.

He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Christine (D’Errico) Casarano; two sons, Nicholas D. Casarano and his wife Laurie of Newburg, WV, John M. Casarano of Windham; one daughter, Christine A. Hinckley and her husband Jeff of Windham; a sister Mary Cunha of Lowell, MA; four grandchildren, Donald D., David J., and Christopher J. Hinckley and Leah C. Casarano and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral service was held on January 8 at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow.

    RAYMOND — Myron W. Cate, 79, of Hay Springs, Nebraska died peacefully at home on August 20, 2010. Myron was born on February 23, 1931 in Manchester. He was a resident of Raymond, until he joined the United States Navy at the age of 17. He proudly served his country in both the Navy and then the Air Force during the Korean War. Myron's patriotism and strong love of American Freedom was seen as he was known to even carry a copy of the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution in his pocket.
