Pauline E. (Bates) Morse, 85

Haverhill, Newton, N.H. — Pauline E. (Bates) Morse, 85, was born in Braintree, Mass. to the late William D. Bates and Morna (Davis) Bates.

The joy of her life was her family. She was devoted to her children, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. She gave unselfishly to others and had a true passion for living life. She was a loving wife, a wonderful mother, dear grandmother and great-grandmother who often was found reading a book, singing a song, or cooking. She loved to travel and be with family, as she enjoyed life to its fullest. Her community service made the world a better place one kind deed at a time. The choir angels are blessed to have her among them, and we will all miss her dearly.

She was a member of the Newton Junction Baptist Church and served in many capacities including organist (over 50 years), clerk, Sunday School Superintendent, and choir director. She took a very active role with the American Baptist Women. She had a passion for the American White Cross Association, a global relief healthcare organization. In addition, she taught 4-H to many neighborhood children for over 20 years. She was a founding member of the quilting group, Bits and Pieces, held many officers with the Granite State Grange, an active member of the Newton Cable Committee, and the Ladies Aid Association. She had an obsession with her fabric. She retired from the U.S. Census Bureau which had her traveling throughout New England where she had a knack of finding the best fabric sales to add to her "stash."

Pauline was predeceased by her loving husband of 42 years, Robert (Bunny) Morse, Sr. and infant son, Stephen Morse; brother, William (Bill) Bates; daughter-in-law, Deidre (Dearborn) Morse.
