Mary Sloan, 89

Kingston, N.H. — Mary M. Sloan, 89, died July 3, 2012 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH after a brief illness.

She was born September 2, 1922 in Boston, MA., daughter of the late Allan MacDonald and Isabelle (MacFarland) Hamilton. Mary was one of four daughters growing up in Somerville, MA. Mary graduated from Somerville High School. During WWII, she worked several years for the Watertown Arsenal. They resided in Carlisle, MA. from 1947-1961, and have since lived in Kingston, NH. Mary retired from the Globe Department Store in Exeter, NH after 15 years as manager there.

Mrs. Sloan was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club in Kingston, NH and a former active member of the Kingston P.T.A.

Mary’s greatest joy came from spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing, reading and baking.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, James “Jim” Sloan of Kingston, NH, son and his wife, Bruce and Sheryl Sloan of Savannah, GA., daughter and her husband, Jennifer and David Woodford of Exeter, NH, son and his wife, Scott and Traci Sloan of Exeter, NH, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2012 from 3:00-6:00 PM at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Michael Church, Exeter, NH. Burial will be at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.

    Ft. Gibson, OK — Catherine F. "Kitty" (Clements) Brown passed away February 17, 2013, at her home in Ft. Gibson, Okla., after a brave battle with cancer. Kitty was born in Brentwood, N.H., on April 21, 1946, to the late Chester H. Clements and Catherine F. (Morse) Clements. She was raised in Kingston, N.H., and graduated from Sanborn Seminary. She lived for many years on Plum Island, Mass. While living on Plum Island, she was a columnist and photographer for The Daily News of Newburyport, as well as a school bus driver.

  • Ted "Teddy" Bolduc

    Fremont, N.H. — Ted “Teddy” Burleigh Bolduc, was born the youngest son of Phyllis and Joseph Bolduc Sr., on May 22, 1962. He died suddenly April 8, 2013, after a brief illness. Ted lived for most of his life in Fremont and Raymond. He was well known for his skills with heavy equipment and worked all his life in construction and excavation in the Fremont and Epping area. In addition to his work, he loved ice hockey, baseball, hunting, country music, and animals, especially his dog Finlay. He was very proud of, and also loved by, his very large family.
