Wilhelm Muller, 74

ATKINSON, N.H. — Wilhelm "Bill" Muller, 74, of Atkinson, N.H., formerly of Torrington and Portland, Conn., died Friday morning, Oct. 14, 2011 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Mass.

He was born in Torrington, where he grew up and attended school before earning his bachelor's degree at the University of Connecticut. He received his master's degree from the University of Hartford. Bill taught English and Drama at Torrington High School for 35 years, where he also served as a drama coach and as chair of the English Department. A kind, gentle, caring man, he was beloved by all who knew him.

He and his wife of 34 years, Maryellen "Pastor Ellen" Muller, moved to New Hampshire in 2000 to be near daughter Lynn, son-in-law, Perry Wong, and grandsons, Matthew and Jason. He is also survived by his son, Colonel Paul Muller, U.S.M.C., who recently returned from Afghanistan, as well as Paul's wife, Heidi. Bill's sister, Rosalie Mueller and her husband, Harry, and his brother, Kenneth, and his wife, Jeanette, also survive him, along with niece, Katherine Behm and husband Jonathan, and their children, and nephew, Harry Mueller and wife Deborah, and their children.

ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be on Oct. 21, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Dewhirst-Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence St., Andover, Mass., with the funeral service at Faith Lutheran Church, 360 South Main St., Andover, Mass., on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 11 a.m. Burial arrangements are private.     Bar Harbor, ME — Francis M. Lurvey passed away Sunday, June 22, in Bar Harbor, Maine, after battling cancer. By his side were his sons, Edwin Lurvey and Steven Lurvey and his niece and husband, Debra and Richard Carey, as well as cousin, Marion McDonald. He was the son of Edwin R Lurvey (Bar Harbor) and Delia Amazeen (Dexter). He is survived by five children, a stepson, and their families. His sons, Edwin and wife April, Steven and wife, Pam, David and his daughter, Meghan, as well as his daughters, Lorraine and Ellen and her husband, Paul DiScipio with daughters, Katherine and Julia, and his stepson, Brian Faulkner and wife, Jody with children, Trevor, Rachel, and Keith. He is also survived by his sister, Sheryl, and many nieces and nephews including Frank Lurvey and Elaine Langer. Francis was predeceased by his twin brother, Frank, as well as his brothers, Edwin and Erwin. He was also predeceased by his longtime companion, Brian and Edwin’s mother, Maureen Faulkner and former wife, Roberta Lurvey Gilmore.
