FREMONT, N.H. — Elizabeth J. Akeley, 81, died Friday, June 3, 2011 at the Portsmouth Hospital.
She was born July 9, 1929 in Kingston, N.H., daughter of the late Henry and Blanche (Brickett) West.
A resident of Fremont for the last 10 years, Elizabeth grew up in Kingston, N.H. and moved to Lynn, Mass. for many years. She worked as a seamstress for the Keaser Manufacturing Co.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and stitching. She also loved daisies.
She was the widow of Earl Akeley, who died Jan. 23, 2010, and predeceased by a son, Richard G. Akeley.
She is survived by her son, Robert C. Akeley of Rochester, N.H.; her daughter, Ronda Watkins of Fremont, N.H.; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bernie West of Salisbury, Mass. and Andy West of Lawrence; one sister, Barbara Currier of Dover, N.H.; several nieces and nephews.
