PLAISTOW, NH: Lorraine Francine (Parks/Shattuck) Gleed was born in Portsmouth, N.H., to William H. Parks and Hazel Althea (Fogg) Parks. Both of Lorraine's parents died of TB. Her father died in 1927 and her mother in 1928. Lorraine's two older siblings, William H. and Gwendolyn Louise, lived with their maternal grandparents, Frank and Minnie Fogg in Hampton, N.H. Both being in their late 70s, they could not care for Lorraine.

MERRIMAC, MA: Leslie Byers died December 10, 2014, at Lexington Health Care, in a rapid decline after a long battle with cancer. Leslie was born October 9, 1945, in Kansas City, Kan., eldest daughter of the late Jack A. and Mildred H. White, and lived in several places as a child, including Dallas, Texas and Stamford, Conn. A resident of Cambridge, Mass. until 1988, Leslie lived with creativity and independence. Her varied career included retail and housing management. She retired from the IRS and devoted her time to arts, travel, and gardening.

NORTH PORT, FL: Louis M. Holt Jr., 88, of North Port, Fla., passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Louis was born on January 19, 1926 to the late Louis M and Natalie (Dole) Holt. He was a WW ll veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He had retired from the State of Massachusetts after serving 40 years as a Civil Engineer. In 1985, he and his late wife, Doris, moved to Lake Placid, Fla. from Georgetown, and then to North Port in 2012. He was a protestant and loved traveling, fishing and being with his family. Survivors include his 10 children, Claire Guilmette of North Port, Fla., Raymond Holt of Raymond, N.H., Leonard Holt of Newton, N.H., Sandra Carey of Port Orange, Fla., Sherri Garnache of Haverhill, Dawn Harper of Exeter, N.H., Nelson Holt of Spring Hill, Fla., William Holt of Merrimac, Mass., Lisa McGibbon of North Port, and Lori Tanner of Georgetown, Mass.; sister, Winifred Gatchell of Jay, Maine; 22 grandchildren, along with many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

LAWRENCE: J. Edward ('Eddy') Pellerin died on Monday, January 19, at his home in Orange. Mr. Pellerin was born and raised in Lawrence. He was an attendant of St. Anne Church, Lawrence. He worked at Lawrence Packaging Company for many years. His family members include two children, Michael Pellerin and Mark Pellerin of Massachusetts, and his sister, Lucille Bergeron of Ashburn, Va. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in death by parents, Antonio and Juliette Pellerin; his brothers, Napolean, Wilfred, William, Robert and Normand Pellerin, and his sister, Rita Gosselin.

PLAISTOW, NH: Robert (Rob) S. Walden passed away on December 4, 2014 after a long illness. Rob was the beloved friend and husband to Cheryl Boetti Walden. He was the son of the late Carl and Dorothy (Milner) Walden and born in Newburyport. Along with his wife he leaves behind his brother Joseph Walden of Merrimac; daughter, Veronica Walden of Rural Retreat, Va.; stepdaughters, Emily Holmes of Dover, N.H. and Kimberly Nims of Manchester, N.H.; stepsons, Curtis Mathews and Joseph Mathews in Virginia; his uncle, Bill and aunt, Janet (Milner) Morse of Durham, N.H.; cousins in the Exeter, N.H. area, 10 grandchildren and much loved friends Charlie and Marie Colby of Newbury, along with so many other who will remember him and will miss him.

He was survived by his sisters, Beverly Poirier and Karen Bemis, both of Spring Lake, N.C.; his children, Kimberly Alaimo, Kelly Bemis, both of Derry, N.H.; his son, Scott Bemis and Kathy Bradley of Salem, N.H.; his stepdaughter, Quinn Hargrove of Spring Lake, N.C. Steven Clarke of Haverhill, Wayne and Shane Bemis of Spring Lake. He leaves behind 18 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and six nephews.

He was a supervisor at American Shoe Machinery Co. before he retired. He was an avid fisherman and loved all New England Sports, especially the Boston Red Sox. THE VILLAGES, FL: Captain Robert Bruce Kitt, USN (Retired), died October 18, 2014, in Lady Lake. He was born in South Dakota in 1920 and raised in Tulsa, Okla. He attended Oklahoma A&M College before being recommended to the U.S. Naval Academy in 1940, graduating in 1943 (Class of 1944). Robert served his country with distinction through WWII and Vietnam and retired in 1973. He was a land surveyor in New Hampshire before moving to Lady Lake in 1987.

He was the son of the late Fredrick and Annette Anderson, and brother of the late Nancy Anderson. He is survived by a sister, Barbara Morrison Watts; nieces, Diane Page and Linda Nixon; nephews, Glenn Morrison and Steven Riel; seven great-nieces and great-nephews; and six great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

SANDOWN, NH: Clifford H. M. Durling, 72, passed away peacefully Monday, October 6, 2014 after a brief illness. Cliff was born August 8, 1942 in Arlington, Mass., son of the late Charles and Lena (MacGregor) Durling. Cliff was the third son of six children. The family grew up in Sandown, N.H. where he worked the family's small farm, taking care of animals, plowing, haying, and logging which included hauling the logs by horse and wagon to the Fremont Mills. He attended school at the Pine Grove, Clark, and Sandown Central Schools. He was a member of the St. Matthews Methodist Church in Sandown, N.H., where he sang in the church choir. It was said that he had the voice of an angel. He was a Cub Scout, Boy Scout, a member of the DeMolay Boys, a member of the Wingold, Pomona, N.H. State and National Grange, and the American Legion Carl Davis Post 34. He was proud of being a member of the Grange for more than half a century. He served his country in the United States Army from 1964-1967 which part of that time he was stationed in Germany. Before being honorably discharged he served as a currier out of Fort Devens in Massachusetts. He went on to work for Sanders Association before becoming a cross country and local truck driver for many years, but his favorite job was being a mechanic. He could fix or build anything (he was a mechanical genius).

He was a 2009 graduate of Sanborn Regional High School . David also graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with his Associate's Degree. He had a passion for music and sports. David loved people and enjoyed talking and listening to everyone he met. Besides his parents, he is also survived by his brother, Dan Sharrio of Fremont, N.H.; his grandparents, Joe and Phyllis Streeter of Kingston, N.H., Janet Sharrio of Derry, N.H., Karine Sharrio of Nashua, N.H., and Richard Sharrio of New Mexico; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Michael Duffy passed away on July 6, 2014, surrounded by his wife and children. Mike was the son of the late Patrick and Martha (Braniff) Duffy. He was born and raised in the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx, N.Y. A Vietnam Veteran, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served from 1966 until being honorably discharged in 1968. Mike was employed by NYTel/NYNEX/Verizon for 35 years until his retirement in 2004.

Raymond, NH — James Edwin Reese, 74, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, surrounded by his family and friends at his home in Raymond, N.H. He was the son of John and Ruth Reese, born on Oct. 29, 1939 in Edensburg, Pa. James graduated from Central Cambria High School in Pennsylvania before proudly serving in the U.S. Army as a food inspector. His military service was followed by 31 years with the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a meat inspector. Mr. Reese was an avid outdoorsman and spent much of his time fishing, camping and hiking in the White Mountains. He became involved in the Boy Scouts and enjoyed passing on his vast knowledge of the wilderness to others. Throughout his retirement years he enjoyed woodworking, raising rabbits and working in his garden.

South Hampton, NH — Velma J. Reid, 80, died peacefully on July 17, 2014 at Exeter Hospital, surrounded by family. She was born in Haverhill, Mass. on June 8, 1934, the daughter of the late George C.W. and Alta I. (Kimball) Haynes. A graduate of Haverhill High School, Velma worked at Western Electric until she had children. For years, she was a devoted “stay-at-home” mom who raised her three children in a loving, nurturing environment. She later worked various manufacturing jobs until her retirement. After retiring, she volunteered her time at various organizations and was very involved at the East Kingston Community United Methodist Church as a member of the women’s guild, assisting with the holiday fair, and helping out wherever she could. She had a passion for animals, and would donate money, food, and blankets to the NH SPCA. She loved to sew and made a personalized quilt for every member of her family. She was also a member of the “Ugly Quilts” group, which made blankets and sleeping bags for the homeless using recycled fabric. She is survived by her husband, Clyde Reid of South Hampton, N.H.; daughter, Pam Eaton of Danville, N.H.; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Kim Reid of Raymond, N.H.; daughter, Shirley Reid of South Hampton, N.H.; two sisters, Gwen Stuart of Haverhill, and Norma Taplin of Dracut; four grandchildren, Cheryl and Marc Welch, and Kristen and Joshua Reid, and several nieces and nephews.
