Representatives of Exeter Hospital recently met with Exeter resident Mr. John William Smallwood to extend their gratitude to him for a donation made recently to the hospital’s Cardiology Program Fund in memory of his wife Nancy Smallwood. The Cardiology Program Fund benefits patients and employees by supporting a wide range of services and programs to improve the quality of life for cardiac patients as well as helping employees to participate in continuing education opportunities. Mr. Smallwood expressed his appreciation for the care his wife received from Dr. Thomas Wharton and his staff during her treatment at the hospital. Mr. Smallwood is pictured with a copy of his book Tomlin’s Crew: A Bombardier’s Story, which recounts his experiences during World War II.
