French Teacher Honored

---- — Dee Hambucken, who is in her 13th year as a French teacher at Sanborn Regional High School, was recently recognized as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction through the National Society of High School Scholars. Madame Hambucken was nominated for this honor by one of her French 3 Honors students, Sara Drury, who completed a nomination form and essay detailing how Madame is a teacher who has made a significantly positive impact on her high school career. The award recognizes Madame Hambucken for her "excellence in teaching and the encouragement of and dedication to the academic success of students at Sanborn Regional High School".

Madame Hambucken says the award "was a lovely surprise. It means the world to me that a student would take the time to do something like this." In addition to her certificate of recognition, Madame Hambucken now may attend any of the educational forums held by the National Society of High School Scholars around the country. The NSHSS was co-founded by Claes Nobel (a senior member of the family who established the Nobel prizes) in 2002 with the mission of recognizing academic excellence and to encouraging members to apply their unique talents, vision, and potential for the betterment of themselves and the world. Congratulations, Madame Hambucken, and keep up the good work!
