Attorney Gordon Gainty of Kingston, has joined the Massachusetts Family Law Group, a team of more than 20 lawyers who provide comprehensive legal representation to individuals and families throughout the state. Kimberly Karchenes received a warm welcome as she began her duties on July 15 as Director of Music at the Congregational Church, 21 Front Street in Exeter. A resident of Cape Neddick, ME, she most recently served as Associate Director of Music Ministry at First Parish Church in York.

Linda Fagan of Plaistow was among three Northern Essex Community College employees to receive the quarterly employee recognition award for the third quarter of 2013. Fagan, an administrative assistant for NECC’s Division of Foundational Studies and Liberal Arts & Sciences for just one year, was nominated by her colleagues who praised her high work standards, service-oriented approach to the job, and a friendly, cooperative, and courteous manner.

John Albert, President and CEO of Home Health Foundation recently announced that Merrimack Valley Hospice has received a $15,000 grant from The Provident Community Foundation. Funds will be used to support the new seven-suite wing expansion of Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill. The addition of the new wing will allow for 21 private patient suites in total, of which two can accommodate pediatric patients. The wing will reflect the existing peacefulness of a home setting with patios, family gathering area, a care station and several common areas.

The Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce this year’s recipient of the 2013 William A. Brown Distinguished Businessperson Award has been presented to Scott D. Cote, President and CEO, Pentucket Bank. . Scott is well known in several area communities for his creativity and enthusiasm for supporting local nonprofit organizations, with a particular passion for youth organizations, low-income housing initiatives, and programs benefitting the elderly.

  • Kingston Artist Participates in Exhibit

    NEWBURYPORT, MA —Mary Carolyn Webber of Kingston will present her monotype paintings at the Newburyport Art Association, located at 65 Water Street, Newburyport, MA. The Opening Reception will be held on Fri., August 1, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. The exhibit runs through August 10.     Gideon Masonic Lodge No. 84 of Kingston, made a substantial donation to three students from the Seacoast School of Technology of Exeter, during a fundraiser held at the lodge on Church St., in Kingston.
