New Chamber President

Newfields resident Matt Halfmann, Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager of The Provident Bank in Exeter, has been elected Chairman of the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors at the Business After Hours/Annual Chamber Meeting held on September 20, held at the Kevin Roy Building Company in Stratham. An active member of the Chamber for several years, Mr. Halfmann has participated in the Ambassador committee, the Golf Tournament committee, and the Executive committee as well as Co-Chairing the Business of the Year event the last two years.

One event that Mr. Halfmann is looking forward to in particular is the upcoming Powder Keg Beer & Chili Festival that will take place alongside the 14th annual Fall Festival on October 20.  "I believe the Powder Keg Beer and Chili Festival is a wonderful addition to Fall Festival and look forward to this becoming an annual event that will attract people to downtown Exeter,” says Mr. Halfmann.

Additionally, Mr. Halfmann is the Treasurer of the Exeter Country Club, where he is also a member and a participant in the Tuesday night Men's league and is the liaison between Historic Exeter Retail Owner's Network (HERON) and the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce. He began working at The Provident Bank in 2008.

“Matt is a great leader and has proven this time and time again in his position as Branch Manager. He is passionate about everything he does, whether it involves his customers, his staff or his community. We are thrilled with his election as Chairman and know that he will be a strong asset to the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce,” says Charlie Cullen, President and CEO of The Provident Bank.
