New Generation Given Grant

Carriage Towne News

---- — GREENLAND - The challenge is on! New Generation is excited to announce that it has received a $5,000 matching grant from an anonymous donor in order to complete construction of its second transitional apartment. That means that any amount donated for this project will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000!

The transitional apartment is for single mothers who are working or in school full-time, and is intended as a transition to help them move towards independence into their own stable housing in the community. It is open to their current residents who are ready for the next step towards independence or to those in need in the community.

New Generation currently has one transitional apartment already, and a current transitional apartment resident shares, “…without New Gen it is a cold dark world. New Generation has made it livable…it is enjoyable, it is everything I have ever wanted…”

Community support is needed to help give the gift of a home for the holidays for families in need. Donations can be made online at www.newgennh.org anytime, called in with a credit card Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or mailed with checks payable to New Generation and sent to PO Box 676, Greenland, NH, 03840. Any specific questions or feedback can be addressed to Jen Bisson, Director of Fundraising, at (603) 436-4989 or director@newgennh.org. We want to thank those who have already donated to this cause, including The McIninch Foundation, The Samuel P. Hunt Foundation, the Agnes M. Lindsay Trust, and the Portsmouth Knights of Columbus. We want to thank in advance those in the community who are moved to donate to this endeavor.

To learn more about supporting their mission, or if you are interested in becoming a board member, please call Jen Bisson at (603) 436-4989 or email her at director@newgennh.org.
