STRATHAM – Wiggin Memorial Library at 10 Bunker Hill Avenue in Stratham will be hosting its 5th Annual Puppet Sale Fundraiser and Cookie Cook-Off on Fri., November 14, from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. This festive event is held every year to launch the holiday season at the library as well as to raise funds for children’s programming.

Puppet World of Suffield, Connecticut, provides an extensive assortment of puppets, stuffed animals, story dolls, and other educational toys to help attendees get a head-start on their holiday shopping for all the young people (or “young at heart”) on their lists. A portion of all sales will be returned to the library to be used for children’s programming. If people aren’t able to get into the library the day of the fundraiser, they can also purchase items on-line at www.puppetworld.net. Just indicate when ordering that the purchase is to be included in the Wiggin Memorial Library Fundraiser.

In addition to shopping, visitors will be able to “keep up their strength” by sampling some scrumptious culinary treats compliments of the Cookie Cook-Off bakers. Participants in the Cook-Off include the library staff and Board of Trustees, Friends of the Wiggin Memorial Library, and Town of Stratham employees. After sampling the cookies, guests are invited to vote for their favorites and pick up a copy of all the recipes. The winning “chef” will be announced the following week in the library.
