SANDOWN – The Sandown Food Pantry and organizers have been giving Christmas help to children of families in need for over thirty years. Usually members put Giving Trees in a few locations in Sandown. Generous people take a tag and purchase the gift. In the past, this has just occurred naturally. The need is greater than ever this year. Gift requests have already been taken from thirty-one families, and it isn’t even Thanksgiving yet.

Please consider going to the Sandown Town Hall or the Vestry at St. Matthew’s Church to take a tag. There are trees in both locations. Donations are requested to help buy the toys on tags which are not taken.

Organizers have always allowed each child to make two wishes (under $30.00 each) as well as a few inexpensive items to help Santa fill stockings. They try to be generous as this might be the only gifts these children receive. There are tags on gifts which can cost up to $30.00, and there are simple requests such as coloring books and crayons.

The Food Pantry is well aware that there are many organizations asking for help at this time of year and they hate to be among them, but they don’t want these children to be disappointed.

If you wish to make a donation, you can make checks out to the Sandown Food Pantry, P.O. Box 5, Sandown, NH 03873. Please put “Giving Tree” in the memo line.

For more information please call Arlene Bassett at 887-3453 or email abassett@gsinet.net. Organizers thank you in advance for any help you can give.
