---- — RAYMOND - A Raymond youth is to become one of our future leaders. Yes, our own Gregory Gibby, a current sixth grade student at St. Thomas Aquinas School, was nominated by his teacher, Mrs. Susan Gauthier, who recognized Gregory as one of a very select group of exceptional students, with the scholastic merit, maturity, and strength of character, to represent his school at the 2013 Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC) this summer in Washington, D.C.

The key goal of JrNYLC, through its various seminars and workshops, is to introduce Junior National Scholars to the very important concepts of leadership: character, communications, goal setting, respect, problem solving, and teamwork. In being selected for this program, JrNYLC’s first consideration is the meeting of significant academic requirements and also in having proven strength of character, and leadership ability.

The JrNYLC is sponsored by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council (CYLC), a nonpartisan, educational organization founded in 1985, in Vienna, Va. The JrNYLC offers mature, high-achieving middle school students, like Gregory, the unique opportunity to learn about leadership. This program is designed to inspire, motivate, and educate, through a week of seminars and workshops, using Washington, D.C. as their classroom, to give these fine students enhanced confidence and leadership skills they can use the rest of their lives: in their home, school, community, and later on, into the business and/or political world.

Gregory is the son of Cindy and Scott Townsend, the brother of Richard, the grandson of Cindy McCarthy, and the nephew of Tona McCarthy, one very, very proud, close knit Raymond family. Gregory is a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6850’s Squires, a catholic male youth group. Richard and Gregory are Altar Servers at St. Joseph Parish in, Epping.

Mr. Gregory Gibby, I congratulate you on being nominated, and officially accepted into JrNYLC, and truly look forward to your successful completion of this Conference, in August, and your future leadership in Raymond.

Again, “Congratulations on this great achievement, being a part of this unparalleled opportunity!!!”
