RAYMOND - The Raymond 250th Anniversary Committee continues to work to make our anniversary, next year, an event to remember. They have been working on various ideas to make it a great success.
A sub-committee to produce a cookbook of “keepsake” quality that can be passed down from generation to generation has done their job. The book has old/new photos, old maps, history, dividers with artwork from the school children, and a total of 451 recipes.
There are many interesting recipes from young and old, some from past historical books, and a special kids section. The pages will include historical tidbits as page fillers. The book has gone to press, and we hope to have it for Christmas sales this year. Please plan on buying a couple for stocking stuffers, and another one for you to keep.
I would like to say a very big “Thank You” to all the committee members for their many hours of typing, editing, and proof-reading the recipes, creating the dividers, writing tidbits, adding the photos, and making up the dividers. This committee consisted of: Linda Hoelzel, Pauline Gorden, Peg Louis, Donna Wheeler, and myself.
Again, “Thank You” for a job well done. I’m sure the people of Raymond will be happy to get a copy as a “keepsake”.
