Honor a Veteran

EAST KINGSTON/FREMONT —Perhaps you have a loved one who served in the military and is buried in East Kingston or Fremont.

One way to honor them this holiday season is to sponsor a wreath that will be placed on their gravesite. Not only will your family member or friend be remembered but homeless veterans will also be helped through your sponsorship.

The Wreaths Across America Program provides wreaths for $15.00 each. Ten dollars pays for the construction and delivery of the wreath to the Peoples United Methodist Church in Fremont. Volunteers will place the wreaths on each veteran’s gravesite in both East Kingston and Fremont in December.

The remaining $5.00 will be donated to two local veterans centers that provide food, shelter and clothing to our homeless vets.

Wreaths Across America provides wreaths for Arlington National Cemetery as well as local cemeteries through the United States.

The Selectmen and Cemetery Trustees in East Kingston and Fremont have approved this program. Sponsorship forms are available at the Fremont and East Kingston Town Halls.

If you would like to sponsor a wreath by phone, please call Gerry Tilley at 895-6658.
