Exeter Adult Education offers many personal and professional development courses that begin throughout the Fall term. Whatever your interests are, you should consider a fun evening out at Exeter Adult Education! Upcoming course offerings include:
Beginning Guitar: Learn the basics of how to play the guitar, including treble and bass strings, tuning the guitar, note names, major and minor chords and the basic scales. Class is held on Tuesdays for eight weeks, beginning Oct. 8, from 6:30-8 p.m. The cost is $90.
Intro to Genealogy: Discover your ancestors who came to the U.S. from Europe during the Great Immigration (post Civil War through early 1900’s). Learn about ships’ manifest records, census records, and other less obvious means. This class is held on Mondays for two weeks, beginning Nov. 4, from 6:00-8:30 p.m. The cost is $40.00.
Intro To Stand Up Comedy: Learn from a local comic to write & deliver a 5-minute set. Topics include dissecting, commenting, questioning, distorting, animating, finding a voice, and the craft of being funny! Class is held on Tuesdays for six weeks, beginning Oct. 1, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Week 6 is a field trip to a comedy club. The cost is $75.
Native People of New England: Increase understanding of original inhabitants of New England from earliest times to present-day. Focus on this era of history through a Native American viewpoint. This class is held on Tuesdays for six weeks, beginning Oct. 22, from 6-8 p.m. The cost is $50.
Native Colonial Warfare in New England: Review overlooked events such as the Pequot War, King Phillip’s War, King George’s War, French and Indian War & American Revolution and study the effects of these conflicts on colonial/Indian relations. The class is held on Thursdays for six weeks, beginning October 3, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The cost is $50.00.
Starting & Running Your Own Business: Considering your own business or want to take your business to the next level? Learn the steps necessary to run a business in a effective and legal way - bookkeeping, taxes, insurance and marketing. Speakers include Diane Chubb, President of Legalogos, Tricia Lawler Sabulis, VP, Michaud Insurance Agency and David Stratton, Payroll & Tax Services, LLC. Class is held on Tuesdays for two weeks, beginning October 8, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The cost is $20.
Gospels Of The New Testament As Literature: This course will consider the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Through reading and discussion explore together the themes and styles of these ancient books. Class is held on Tuesdays for 12 weeks, beginning Oct. 1, from 7-8 p.m. The cost is $20.
