KINGSTON —This winter, dentists, oral surgeons, dental hygienists, dental assistants and office administrators will once again volunteer their time, energy and talent throughout the Seacoast area in what has become an annual event - “Dentistry with a Heart”.
“Dentistry with a Heart” is a national program that was established in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire in 1988. The roots of this program grew out of the efforts of many dedicated health care professionals in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1986. Hundreds of thousands of dollars of free dental services have been provided in the seacoast area alone since the program’s inception. This year’s program will continue its charitable philosophy of being available only to disadvantaged people without welfare resources or dental insurance.
Again this year the “Dentistry with a Heart” program is being organized by Dr. Brian Shuman, a dentist in Kingston. According to Dr. Shuman, “the essence of this program says that adults and children are invited to receive a dental service that can be provided in one visit. As we participate in this program, I realize that all dentists have many “service heart” experiences throughout the year, but the greatness of this event is that it gives the dental team an opportunity to act collectively. There is a lot to be said for the value of a unified effort.”

Dr. Skip Homicz and Dr. Peter Thomas in Hampton (926-8827) are available for walk-ins on Sat., February 23, from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Patients are advised to make an appointment, as treatment will be limited to certain dates and available only on a first come/first serve basis. Patients that received services in October will not be eligible for the fall program.
