NEWBURYPORT, MA — May is a very busy time of year for birds migrating through this area. Join a couple of refuge volunteers (who are avid birders) for a guided bird walk on Sat., May 18 or Sun., May 26, from 8:00-9:30 a.m., at the Parker River National Refuge, Plum Island Turnpike in Newburyport, MA. Participants will be hear, see, and learn about some of these fascinating feathery migrants.
This new program is specifically intended for and limited to children ages 9-12. No prior birding knowledge or experience is required. Participants are welcome to bring binoculars and/or field guides. Program enrollment is limited to six children. Participating children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Parents should not bring along younger children. As this is a new program with limited enrollment, each participant is limited to registering for only one of the three planned program dates. Participants should plan to arrive at the Hellcat Parking Lot by 7:50 a.m. Program will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. Pre-registration is required.
