Outside in Hampstead

HAMPSTEAD — Outside in Hampstead is pleased to offer the following events.

Dr. Kevin Arling will lead mountain bike outings for all levels of ability on Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. Meet at the West Road parking lot. For information, call Kevin at 327-7171 or email kevchirolcwc@live.com.

Kathe Cussen is back leading the wildflower walk on Fri., May 24, from 4:00-5:00 p.m., starting from the West Road trailhead to Stage Road and looping back on the “less traveled” Dogwood Trail. Learn about blooming indigenous plants while on this three-mile Nature Hike.

Hike to the Blue Heron rookery on Sat., June 1, starting at the end of Golden Meadow at 1:00 p.m. Bring waterproof boots, binoculars, hiking stick, tick spray. For more information, email Linda Ross at LMGRoss49@yahoo.com.

Also, trail maps are available for both Darby Brook and West Road. Both map sets consist of three maps, each 11x17 inches, printed in color on tear resistant waterproof paper. Each set includes an overview map of the entire area, and two more detailed maps covering smaller areas. Maps are on sale for $10.00 for either set of three, or $15.00 for both sets, at the Town Office Building. These maps are also available online as pdf files. These are formatted to be printed on 11x17 paper. Free maps will be given to all “Outside” participants!
