FREMONT/EAST KINGSTON – If you haven’t sponsored a wreath to be placed on a veteran’s grave in East Kingston or Fremont, now’s the time! The wreaths need to be in place by December 15 for the Wreath of Remembrance Ceremony taking place not only in each of these towns but also at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. and other cemeteries across the United States.
Approximately 300 veterans are buried in Fremont’s and East Kingston’s cemeteries. Sponsors are still needed to ensure that every veteran is honored with a wreath.
Wreaths cost $15.00. Ten dollars pays for the construction and delivery of the wreath. The remaining $5.00 will provide food, shelter, clothing and training for homeless veterans in our local area.
