Pasta Dinner Dance

PLAISTOW — Sam’s Walk for Dreams will hold its 8th annual event on Sat., September 28 - A Pasta Dinner Dance to be held from 7:00-11:00 p.m. at the Amvets Post 147 located at 576 Primrose Street in Haverhill, MA. There will be dinner, music, raffles and other fun for the family.

Sam’s Walk for Dreams was started by Amy Maglia of Atkinson, in honor of her fiancée, Sam Wright of Chester, who died eight years ago from being struck by an automobile while visiting Montreal, Quebec, Canada. His good nature with children inspired Amy to create this organization to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Hampshire. She recruited three other members including Sam’s sister, Melissa Robillard of Chester, sister-in-law Susan Wright of Fremont and family friend Kim D’Entremont of Raymond to coordinate the annual event. To date they have donated $120,000!

Over the past seven years the money raised by Sam’s Walk For Dreams has gone to the Make-A-Wish of NH, but this year they want to also help with something a little closer to home. This past May, a 29 year old young man from Plaistow named Billy Bartlett (also known as “Worm”) had a house fire and lost everything. He was critically injured and is still currently in Boston. As a young child Billy had brain cancer. The radiation treatments Billy received at the time have led to complications in his healing process today. Eighteen years ago Make-A-Wish of NH granted Billy his wish of a tree house in his backyard.

This year’s event is sure to be another great night for the entire family. All proceeds will benefit both Make-A-Wish of NH and the William C. Bartlett Fund. Tickets may be purchased by visiting Insurance Solutions in Plaistow (M-F from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) or Salon 121 in Atkinson on Mondays from 12:00-8:00 p.m., Thursdays, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturdays, from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Tickets will also be available the night of the event at the door. Donations may also be sent to Sam’s Walk for Dreams, PO Box 37, Plaistow, NH 03865.

Sam’s Walk for Dreams would like to thank you for your continued support and they hope to see you there!
