Project Spaghetti Sauce

HAMPSTEAD — The Hampstead Lions Club needs your help with a very special project they are doing for two food pantries in the area, St. Anne’s in Hampstead and the Town of Sandown’s food Pantry.

They put the word out to try and collect as many boxes of pasta as possible. The goal was 200 but in just five days they had collected 400 boxes of pasta. With the economy being so bad there has been a drastic increase in the numbers of families forced to ask for help at the food pantries.

Members have now started a drive for spaghetti sauce to go with the pasta so they can provide an entire meal for a family. The next time that you visit you grocery store please keep these families in mind and buy a couple of cans of spaghetti sauce to donate to the project.

Donations may be dropped off at 37 St. John Lane (Cranberry Meadows Condo) Hampstead or at Carriage Towne News, 14 Church Street, Kingston. You can also call Berny Longbook at 329-5603.

Thank you for considering this great community wide project!
