EXETER —Reverend Steve Magee will deliver a sermon from Acts 22:1-22 on Sun., June 9 at Exeter Presbyterian Church, 73 Winter Street in Exeter.
These verses follow a violent scent at the temple in which the Jews believe Paul to have brought a gentile into the temple, which was forbidden. Paul seizes the opportunity to share with them the story of his conversion which is recorded in full earlier in the book of Acts. The Jews listen until the end of his testimony, where Paul relates a vision in which Jesus appeared to him and sent him to preach the Gospel to gentiles. At this point the Jews rise against him shouting threats of violence.
All are welcome on Sunday to hear more about Jesus and the lives of his Apostles. Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning worship begins at 10:30 a.m. with an evening worship service beginning at 5:00 p.m., including a discussion of the sermon from morning worship.
