Kingston Santa Routes

KINGSTON – Santa will once again come to Kingston with the help of the police and fire departments. Santa’s sleigh will take the following routes beginning at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Each route will take approximately 2 hours. A fire truck will lead the way with a police cruiser following behind. Santa will be at Central Station on Main Street from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., prior to the parade for a photo session.

Route 1 (North end of town)

  • Lamprey River Family Fun

    EPPING — Come celebrate the Lamprey River! The full river is marking its first anniversary in the NH Rivers Management and Protection Program, an acknowledgment by the State of New Hampshire that the Lamprey is a valuable asset for nature, history, recreation, and clean water. Also, with the removal of the Bunker Pond Dam in W. Epping and the completion of a fish ladder at Wiswall Falls in Durham, fish in the river can now potentially travel from Great Bay all the way to Northwood. This is the first year in about 250 years that fish can make their journey home to historic spawning grounds.

    Ruth R. Holmes, 97, of Sandown, NH died Wednesday May 9, 2012 at Parkland Medical Center, Derry. Mrs. Holmes was born in West Newbury, MA on March 28, 1915, a daughter of the late Charles and Idella (Rowell) Poore. Growing up in West Newbury, she was active in both Grange and All Saints Episcopal Church.

    Diane Jean McAskill, 71, passed away April 18, 2012 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA.

    Born on June 23, 1939 in Brentwood, NH, Diane was a resident of Kingston, NH for 57 years. The daughter of the late Frances Spaulding and Merton B. Greeley, Diane was an executive secretary at the Social Security Administration in Boston for many years. While she demonstrated the importance of family to all her knew her, she also enjoyed her time with the Red Hat Ladies and bowling league. Her special passion, however, was painting. Taking up the art after retiring, Diane has brightened the homes of many loved ones with her watercolor canvases.
