Caregivers Open House

DERRY —Community Caregivers of Greater Derry will host an Open House on Tues., July 15, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at their office in the Masonic Temple, next to the Derry Library at 58 East Broadway in Derry. They will have hot dogs, cold drinks, chips, yogurt treats, and more donated by local businesses. Community members that would like to talk with staff and board members about volunteer opportunities, client services and the Loaner’s Closet for durable medical equipment are encouraged to attend. There will be a basket raffle, door prize and other giveaways available. Make it an evening out with the family by joining the open house, and then proceeding to McGregor Park for the kick-off concert of the summer series “Beatlejuice” sponsored by Derry Park and Recreation Department at 7:00 p.m. Rain date for both events is Wed., July 16, same time.

Caregivers, through a volunteer network, assist the elderly and disabled with services such as friendly visiting, respite care, grocery shopping, light chores, light home repair and maintenance, yard work and medical transportation. Services offered through Caregivers are vitally important as they allow individuals to maintain independence in the community and home environment. All services are free of charge. Caregivers also operates a loaner’s closet for durable medical equipment. They have over 5500 pieces of equipment that are free to the general public for loan as long as they may need it. Gentle used, clean donations sought.

If you are unable to attend, or have general questions on volunteering, or accessing volunteer caregiving services, please call 603-432-0877, or visit
