Sunday Sermon

Carriage Towne News

---- — EXETER — Reverend Steve Magee will deliver a sermon from 1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:5 on Sun., October 20 at Exeter Presbyterian Church, 73 Winter Street in Exeter.

At the end of 1 Thessalonians 3 Paul reminds the church there of how he was forced the leave Thessalonica (see Acts 17 for this story) “in person but not in heart”, thinking of them constantly and desiring to return to see whether they had remained strong in their faith, stating clearly in 2:20, “For you are our glory and joy.” He continues in chapter 3 to encourage them to remain strong through affliction which comes to us all.

All are welcome on Sunday to hear more about how the people of God can work together for His glory and joy. Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning worship begins at 10:30 a.m. with an evening worship service beginning at 5:00 p.m., including a discussion of the sermon from morning worship.
