Help Support Our Troops

Carriage Towne News

---- — EXETER – Finders Keepers of Exeter will sponsor a float in the Exeter Holiday Parade for The Buffman Project that says thank you to all our military families and deployed troops. They will be collecting handwritten letters and DVDs to include in the boxes being sent to Afghanistan. Thousands of items have already been shipped but they are having a hard time getting enough letters to include with each box. It is always important to let these men and women know that they are appreciated, but during the holidays it can be especially hard to be so far from home. Finders Keepers, located on Portsmouth Ave in Exeter, will continue to accept any donations on their behalf year round. They can also supply cards, if needed.

Several area schools, businesses and churches have participated, but with the large quantity of shipments being sent they have been unable to keep up with the demand for letters. Finders Keepers sponsors all the packing and shipping costs. Shaws and Lowes have been major supporters, and distributors are providing items from all over the country.

A small group of Marines, including one from Exeter, started the Buffman Project as a memorial for a fallen hero. It now has ties all the way to California. For more information, visit www.BuffmanProject.org or call 603-772-1733
