Winter Festival

HAMPSTEAD —The winter festival will be held on Sun., February 10, at the Tennis Courts on West Road in Hampstead. The events are as follows: Love Run around the lake in Hampstead approximately four miles, Lil Love Run for children ages 3-10 years old, T-shirts, Chili Cook-Off, Bonfire with smores and hot dogs, Carnival Games, Skating performance, Ice Skating, Chuck-A-Puck and more. There is limited space at the Tennis Courts to park so please park at the Town Hall.

The fee for the “Love Run” is $20.00, which includes a long sleeve t-shirt and entry fee. The race will start at the Tennis courts on West Road in Hampstead at 12:00 p.m. Registration is from 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Tennis Courts. The race route will be Emerson Ave to Wash Pond to Kent Farm to Main Street back to West Road. There will be a prize for the first man and woman to finish the race. We will also be recording the all runners’ times for their records. Walkers are welcome and will start after the runner. All participants that are running/walking will be at their own risk. All registrations must be received by February 4 to receive a t-shirt. If they do not receive it by February 4 you can still run/walk but do not receive a t-shirt, and the price stays the same.

The Lil Love Run is for children 3-10 years old. (3-5 years old will run .03 mile) (ages 6-10 will run .06 mile) All children will receive an award for finishing. There is no pre-registration required for the children’s run. If you would like a t-shirt for the children running events you may order them. Or if you would just like a t-shirt they are available. Click on handouts on the left. All orders must be received by February 4.

The Chili Cook-Off will be from 1:00-2:30 p.m. All entries must have ingredients listed. A $10.00 non-refundable registration fee per entry is required. Pre-registration is required. Minimum Participation: 6, Maximum Participation: 30. Registrations must be received by February 4. There will be three contest winners: a panel of judges will determine Best Meat & Best Vegetarian Chili and Festival Attendees who purchase a chili tasting pass will determine People’s Choice.

He also leaves behind many loving family members.
