---- — SANDOWN — Sandown Recreation heads for the Maine coast on Wed., October 16. Depart from the Ed Garvey Recreation Facility at 8:00 a.m. for a day of coastal scenery, a stop to shop and sightsee in Kennebunkport; lunch at the Bull & Claw Restaurant in Wells; live entertainment with humorist and storyteller Joe Foster; and more. The cost is $20.00 per participant age 60 and above and includes coach bus; lunch, entertainment, meal tax and gratuity for wait staff and bus driver. Lunch includes your choice of baked haddock, seafood newburg; fried baby shrimp; luncheon cut prime rib or chicken parmesan along with salad, rolls, baked potato, fresh steamed vegetable, soft drink and dessert. Non-residents may register beginning October 7 for $25.00. Call the recreation office at 887-1872 for availability. Payment and meal choice must accompany your registration. Return to Sandown approximately 4:30-5:00 p.m. Please consider your schedule as no refunds are available unless trip is cancelled.

Celebrate Autumn with Sandown Recreation on Mon., October 21 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ed Garvey Recreation Facility on Pheasant Run Drive. Socialize with new and old friends, enjoy some warm apple crisp, pumpkin doughnuts, coffee and live entertainment with strolling musician Paul Gosselin. You’ll want to sing along to the music he plays on accordion and laugh as you enjoy the magic tricks he’s likely to have up his sleeve. Registration is needed for this event as space is limited. The cost is just $2.00 per person. Non-residents may register beginning October 9. Call the recreation office at 887-1872 to register.
