Town Clerk/Tax Collector
---- — KINGSTON — As the office continues to improve and upgrade the services to the Town of Kingston, I would like to take this opportunity to share some exciting news.
October 2013 the Kingston Town Clerk will become a Fish and Game Agent, which will offer Hunting/Fishing Licenses and Snowmobiles/OHRV registrations through the clerk’s office, just in time for the season.
November 2013 the Clerk’s office is very excited to offer the Kingston Resident the option to pay by credit card. MasterCard, Visa, and Discover will be accepted for your business at the clerk’s window or online. Other departments will not be using this method for payment, only the Town Clerk-Tax Collector’s office.
The Town is a one check town, which means only one check needs to be written to the “Town of Kingston” when registering your motor vehicles. The State of NH still gets paid but it is all added together and electronically transfers to the State, you do not have to write two checks.
The Department of Revenue should be issuing the Town the tax rate next month, which the December 1 tax bills will then be created. The Assessing Department sent out documentation of new assessments, which majority of properties was changed, but that does not necessarily mean your taxes will decrease. The Town still needs to raise the appropriated funds to cover the default budget that voters passed in March. If you have more questions about your assessment, please call the Assessing Department for further assistance at 603-642-3342.
Reminders: Dogs are licensed April 30th every year; we have the upcoming year tag available.
