---- — PLAISTOW — A little first grader was asked that question. Her answer was, “a fierce jungle animal with sharp teeth and he wants to eat me.” Give her an A+ for that answer.
Plaistow has its own Lion, the Plaistow Lions Club. It consists of a group of fine gentlemen from twenty to eighty. They are married to Martha, have two kids, Bonnie and Clyde, a cat named Moses, and a dog called Dawg, and a mortgage.
These Lions give freely of their time and effort, and yes, once in a while they make a donation.
All things considered, the town is a nicer place to live because of the Lions.
The many small fundraising projects have given way to three: a golf tournament, a comedy night, and a very well run “White Cane” Day. The White Cane is the symbol of the blind. The man purpose of Lionism is to continue sight and hearing research until blindness is “history”.
And the only reason the jungle lion wants to eat our little first grader, is because she’s so sweet.
