ATKINSON - Atkinson Recreation is now accepting application for a Director, assistant directors, counselors, and counselors in training (CIT), for the Sun N Fun program for 2013. Please note that returning staff members also need to re-apply.

The program runs for six weeks, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. daily, from the end of June to beginning of August. The date should be available sometime by the end of March. They are looking for energetic individuals that like to play with children. The director is responsible for overseeing the entire program. He/She will plan and manage the daily activities, field trips. The director is also responsible for making decision with Recreation Director for camp cancellation due to weather.

The assistant directors report to the director, oversee the activities and works very close with the children and the counselors. One assistant director is responsible for planning and managing with Director the daily activities for Kindergarten to 5th grade. The other assistant director is responsible for the middle school age campers (going into 6th, 7th, and 8th grades in fall 2013) for their special program. He/She will plan and manage the activities and the field trips for just the middle school campers

Please fill out and drop off or mail it to Atkinson Town Hall: 21 Academy Avenue Atkinson, NH 03811 Attention; Recreation. Applications for the Director and Assistant Directors are due by Mon., March 25, by 4:00 p.m., at Atkinson Town Hall Selectmen’s Office or post marked by March 25th. Applications for the counselor and CIT are due by Mon., April t, by 4:00 p.m., or post marked by April 1st.

  • Catherine F. "Kitty" (Clements) Brown, 66

    Ft. Gibson, OK — Catherine F. "Kitty" (Clements) Brown passed away February 17, 2013, at her home in Ft. Gibson, Okla., after a brave battle with cancer. Kitty was born in Brentwood, N.H., on April 21, 1946, to the late Chester H. Clements and Catherine F. (Morse) Clements. She was raised in Kingston, N.H., and graduated from Sanborn Seminary. She lived for many years on Plum Island, Mass. While living on Plum Island, she was a columnist and photographer for The Daily News of Newburyport, as well as a school bus driver.

  • Ted "Teddy" Bolduc

    Fremont, N.H. — Ted “Teddy” Burleigh Bolduc, was born the youngest son of Phyllis and Joseph Bolduc Sr., on May 22, 1962. He died suddenly April 8, 2013, after a brief illness. Ted lived for most of his life in Fremont and Raymond. He was well known for his skills with heavy equipment and worked all his life in construction and excavation in the Fremont and Epping area. In addition to his work, he loved ice hockey, baseball, hunting, country music, and animals, especially his dog Finlay. He was very proud of, and also loved by, his very large family.
