Kingston Storytellers Wanted

---- — KINGSTON – The Historic District Commission is organizing another informal gathering of life-long Kingston residents. This event will take place on Sun., October 21, from 2:00–4:00 p.m., at the new Kingston Community Library. It is our hope that they will come and share stories of growing up in Kingston.

This is the third in a series of “Remember When” gatherings where we hope to capture stories and make a small brochure available for Kingston’s 325th anniversary celebration in 2019. It is our intent to video the comments and preserve these memories. Our vision is to make this an opportunity to enable future generations to admire and hold dear the special vital pieces that make Kingston and its residents so unique.

The theme for this event will be Kingston’s social activities and recreation, town activities and public service. Past topics have included schools, gathering places, special events, and businesses. Come and join us with stories and/or photos of your memories. We have the capability to project your photos and “artifacts” on a big screen to share with others (this helps generate additional conversation). Please bring those souvenirs, photos, pamphlets and treasures.

We have a small list of residents that we feel could contribute to such a “Remember When” gathering, but if you are interested in sharing your stories, please let us know by calling Judy Rubin, 642-8228 or Virginia Morse, 642-5059. We know there is a wealth of information out there, just waiting to be captured. Hope to see you – October 21 at the new library.
