EXTER —Reverend Steve Magee will deliver a sermon from Acts 23:12-35 on Sun., June 30 at Exeter Presbyterian Church, 73 Winter Street, Exeter.
In these verses it is discovered that over forty Jews have made an oath together to kill Paul and plan to lay in ambush against him. However, this plot is discovered by Paul’s nephew, who runs to inform the tribune who is in custody of Paul. The tribune, alarmed by this hatred of a man who does not deserve death, writes a letter and sends it and Paul to Felix, the governor of the province. In the letter he informs Felix of what has happened at Jerusalem and says that he is sending Paul’s accusers after him to give their side of the story.
