Romancing the Drones

Carriage Towne News

---- — MANCHESTER - The Aviation Museum of New Hampshire will present an in-depth panel discussion on the general topic of drones, or UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) on Sat., April 12, at 11:00 a.m. Not only have military drones captured headlines in recent years, drones in operation domestically have become a hot topic as well. From furnishing law enforcement officials with a means of gathering information through surveillance, to the proposed use of UAVs to provide package delivery, the sky may soon become an even busier place. What impact will all these drones have on commercial and general aviation in the future?

On hand to discuss this important subject will be a drone pilot, a design engineer, and a systems developer who will address the technical aspects of constructing and flying drones. Additionally, the group will discuss the recently introduced bill in the NH Legislature that would restrict some uses of drones throughout the Granite State.

This Second Saturday @ Museum program promises to be a lively discussion/debate. Is this aviation technology growing at a rate faster than our ability to control it? You’re invited to join the dialogue. The program begins promptly at 11:00 a.m., and will conclude at 1:00 p.m. Attendance at this forum is included in the price of admission, and is free to all Aviation Museum of NH members. Seating is limited and on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The Aviation Museum of NH is located at 27 Navigator Road in Londonderry, NH 03053. Contact phone number is 603-669-4820 and is online at www.aviationmuseumofnh.org.
