Potter's Bowl

DERRY – On Fri., January 31, Community Caregivers is hosting their ninth annual Potter’s Bowl fundraiser from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

For a $35.00 ticket, patrons are able to pick a handcrafted pottery bowl, all donated by local New Hampshire artists. There will be over a dozen different types of soup donated from local restaurants around the Derry area as well as breads, desserts, and other goodies to enjoy. Take away soup sold in last hour for $5.00. A pottery wheel demonstration will be occurring in the hour prior to the event for waiting patrons.

A 50/50 raffle will be featured as an added fundraiser for the agency. There will also be musical entertainment and a silent auction with items donated from other New England artists and craftsmen. Auction items include gift certificates, oil paintings, acrylic paintings, matted photography, watercolor, and handcrafted jewelry. The value of all art donated amounts to over $5,000. It is not too late to donate your fine art, pottery or homemade craft to a good cause.

The event is to be held at Promises to Keep, Rt. 28, Derry. It is an artistic event full of fun and lots of great food to help support a local nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the elderly and disabled in our area. Tickets are now available and sell out quickly. To purchase tickets to the event, please call Caregivers at 432-0877 or drop by the Derry Masonic Temple at 58 E. Broadway during the business day.

    LAWRENCE — Marie Rose (Robidoux) Audy, passed away at her home surrounded by her family, after suffering a stroke in April. She was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Rose A. (Betit) and Alfred Robidoux, originally of Quebec, Canada. She was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Armand Joseph Audy, who passed away on June 28, 1976.

  • Francis M. Lurvey, 76

    Bar Harbor, ME — Francis M. Lurvey passed away Sunday, June 22, in Bar Harbor, Maine, after battling cancer. By his side were his sons, Edwin Lurvey and Steven Lurvey and his niece and husband, Debra and Richard Carey, as well as cousin, Marion McDonald. He was the son of Edwin R Lurvey (Bar Harbor) and Delia Amazeen (Dexter). He is survived by five children, a stepson, and their families. His sons, Edwin and wife April, Steven and wife, Pam, David and his daughter, Meghan, as well as his daughters, Lorraine and Ellen and her husband, Paul DiScipio with daughters, Katherine and Julia, and his stepson, Brian Faulkner and wife, Jody with children, Trevor, Rachel, and Keith. He is also survived by his sister, Sheryl, and many nieces and nephews including Frank Lurvey and Elaine Langer. Francis was predeceased by his twin brother, Frank, as well as his brothers, Edwin and Erwin. He was also predeceased by his longtime companion, Brian and Edwin’s mother, Maureen Faulkner and former wife, Roberta Lurvey Gilmore.
