Plaistow Rec Trips

PLAISTOW — Plaistow Recreation is pleased to announce the following trips.

March 21: Take a trip to Foxwoods! The bus will leave the Westville Park & Ride at 7:15 a.m. and return to Plaistow at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $20.00 for residents and $25.00 for non-residents.

April 25: Don’t miss “A Chorus Line” the musical, at the Palace Theatre. The bus will leave the Park & Ride on Westville at 4:45 p.m. Dinner will be at the Strange Brew Tavern and on your own. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m., bus will return to Plaistow directly after the show. Tickets are $35.00 for residents and $40.00 for non-residents.

May 15: Join Plaistow Recreation for a trip to the Inn at East Hill in Troy. Enjoy a delicious meal of Baked Haddock or their signature Pot Roast. After dinner you will be treated to a demonstration of how chocolate is made, and yes there will some for consumption and purchase. The evening will end with a performance by a Barbershop Quartet! The cost for this trip is $35.00 for Plaistow residents and $40.00 for non-residents.

June 12: Spend the day with Plaistow Recreation on A Tour de Vermont! The bus will leave at 7:30 a.m. from the Westville Park & Ride head to Cabot Creamery for a Cheese Tour. What is cheese without a little wine? Enjoy wine tasting at Grand View Winery, and to finish the tour - a stop at Bragg Sugar House for Maple Creamies. Lunch will be on your own, a place to be determined at a later date. The cost for this trip is $35.00 for Plaistow residents and $40.00 for non-residents.

July 16: Lighthouse Lover’s Cruise –join this trip to Portland, where will be dropped off on the dock to pick your choice of eateries for lunch (on your own). Then jump onboard Portland Discovery Cruise and enjoy an afternoon of sea breeze and lighthouses. The cost is $40.00 for Plaistow residents and $45.00 for non-residents.

    LAWRENCE — Marie Rose (Robidoux) Audy, passed away at her home surrounded by her family, after suffering a stroke in April. She was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Rose A. (Betit) and Alfred Robidoux, originally of Quebec, Canada. She was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Armand Joseph Audy, who passed away on June 28, 1976.

  • Francis M. Lurvey, 76

    Bar Harbor, ME — Francis M. Lurvey passed away Sunday, June 22, in Bar Harbor, Maine, after battling cancer. By his side were his sons, Edwin Lurvey and Steven Lurvey and his niece and husband, Debra and Richard Carey, as well as cousin, Marion McDonald. He was the son of Edwin R Lurvey (Bar Harbor) and Delia Amazeen (Dexter). He is survived by five children, a stepson, and their families. His sons, Edwin and wife April, Steven and wife, Pam, David and his daughter, Meghan, as well as his daughters, Lorraine and Ellen and her husband, Paul DiScipio with daughters, Katherine and Julia, and his stepson, Brian Faulkner and wife, Jody with children, Trevor, Rachel, and Keith. He is also survived by his sister, Sheryl, and many nieces and nephews including Frank Lurvey and Elaine Langer. Francis was predeceased by his twin brother, Frank, as well as his brothers, Edwin and Erwin. He was also predeceased by his longtime companion, Brian and Edwin’s mother, Maureen Faulkner and former wife, Roberta Lurvey Gilmore.

Predeceased by his wife, Alice Hopper, he is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Joann Peatfield; daughters, Shay Belair and Jayne Pond; sons-in-law, Adam Belair and James Pond; mother, Arlene Hopper; father and stepmother, Frederick S. and Barbara Hopper; siblings, Susan Hardy, Stephan Hopper, Scott Hopper, and Sherri Chagnon; grandsons, Benjamin Belair, Jonathan Belair and Jackson Pond; and numerous nieces and nephews.
