Adult Ed Classes

EXETER — HiSET® (High School Equivalency) has replaced the GED in NH! Like the GED, it provides an opportunity to study and earn a high school equivalency certificate.

Adults who did not complete high school or who need to improve basic reading, writing, or math skills are encouraged to come back to school. Because school may not have been a positive experience the first time, returning to school may sound like a scary thing to do. Yet many adults from ages 18 to 75 have taken the courageous step to get their high school equivalency certificate or to improve their spelling, reading, and math.

Some of these brave people come to school because they need this certification to get a job or to prepare for job training or college. Others want to be able to help their own children but need to improve their own skills first. Whatever the reason, it’s not too late.

Adult Basic Education and HiSET Preparation day classes meet on Mon., Wed., and Fri., from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Evening classes meet on Mon. and Thurs., from 6:30–9:00 p.m. Registration is on Mon., January 13 at 9:00 a.m. for day classes and 6:30 p.m. for evening classes.

ABE classes are free. HiSET course tuition is $80.00, including books. Limited scholarships are available.

All classes meet at the Tuck Learning Campus, Entrance D, 30 Linden Street, Exeter. For more information regarding any of these classes, please call Exeter Adult Education at 775-8457, or visit their website at adultedsau16.org.
