FREMONT - The Fremont Historical Society (FHS) will hold its next meeting on Tues., November 13, at 7:30 p.m., in the Fremont Public Library Community Room on Main St. (Route 107). Admission is free.
Local historian Matthew E. Thomas will show a variety of old photo’s, stereoviews, tintypes, postcards, showing various Fremont people, places and events during the past 150 years dating back to the Civil War (1861 to 1865). Mr. Thomas has collected over 4000 images of Fremont during the past 40 years in an effort to preserve the photographic history of Fremont for posterity.
Anyone interested in local history is cordially invited to attend this fascinating trip down memory lane to see just how much Fremont has, or hasn’t changed since the Civil War. Refreshments will be served. For more information, please call the FHS at 895-4032.
