Veterans Ceremonies

HAMPTON – The American Legion POST 35 in the Hamptons will hold their Veterans Day observances on Sun., November 11, as follows: 8:00 a.m. Marine Memorial Hampton Beach; 9:00 a.m. - Public Library North Hampton; 10:00 a.m. - The American Legion Post, 35 Hall at 69 High Street, Hampton; and 12:00 noon, Weare Common, Hampton Falls, for the new monument dedication.

This year, they are remembering the Veterans who served in all the wars and during times of peace. The Post is taking a special notice of the Veterans from New Hampshire who served our country from April 30, 1975 to September 11, 2001 and are honoring them with a new monument at the 12 noon service in Hampton Falls.

This year’s guest speaker is one of those Veterans. Christopher Nevins, LT. Col Ret., NH Air National Guard, United States Air Force, 1968 to 1973, was a pilot. He flew the C7A “Caribou” troop transport May 1969 - May 1970, and was a member of the 483rd Tactical Airlift Wing, Cam Rahn Bay, Republic of Vietnam. He also flew the KC135 “Stratotanker” with the 416th Bomb Wing, Griffiss AFB, NY July 1970 - January 1973. After separation from the Air Force, he flew the C7A once again with the 170th Refueling Group, New Jersey Air National Guard, 1974 -1977, and then transferred to the NH Air National Guard to fly the KC-135 with the 157th Air Refueling Wing Pease AFB 1977 -1990. He retired from the NH Air National Guard 1990

His awards and decorations include: Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 4 OLC, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 3 OLC, Air Force Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Combat Medal.

  • Catherine F. "Kitty" (Clements) Brown, 66

    Ft. Gibson, OK — Catherine F. "Kitty" (Clements) Brown passed away February 17, 2013, at her home in Ft. Gibson, Okla., after a brave battle with cancer. Kitty was born in Brentwood, N.H., on April 21, 1946, to the late Chester H. Clements and Catherine F. (Morse) Clements. She was raised in Kingston, N.H., and graduated from Sanborn Seminary. She lived for many years on Plum Island, Mass. While living on Plum Island, she was a columnist and photographer for The Daily News of Newburyport, as well as a school bus driver.

  • Ted "Teddy" Bolduc

    Fremont, N.H. — Ted “Teddy” Burleigh Bolduc, was born the youngest son of Phyllis and Joseph Bolduc Sr., on May 22, 1962. He died suddenly April 8, 2013, after a brief illness. Ted lived for most of his life in Fremont and Raymond. He was well known for his skills with heavy equipment and worked all his life in construction and excavation in the Fremont and Epping area. In addition to his work, he loved ice hockey, baseball, hunting, country music, and animals, especially his dog Finlay. He was very proud of, and also loved by, his very large family.
